1935 Dresser Transformation

We are going to be posting the progress of this dresser on our site.  This dresser is from 1935 and has old wooden wheels that it sits on.  All dovetail drawers throughout and keyholes with locks.  We are going to do a repeat of the blue dresser because of the high demand for the Shabby chic cottage dresser.  We are going to be making this one a bit different and will also be showing how we transform these amazing pieces.

UPDATE:  REMOVING VENEER TOP AND FILLING HOLES WITH WOOD FILLER

taking a break from the removal process

Not as easy as I thought it would be to remove the 80 year old veneer

falling veneer everywhere

filling the holes and smoothing the surface

Make sure you do this outside.  I think the yoga studio next to me felt very relaxed this morning

You need to add the hardener with the filler, just like an epoxy

UPDATE: NEW PICS OF PAINTED DRESSER

Pre Paint with the wheels

Good paint goes a long way

Cover the base if the dresser has wheels like this one

After 1st coat of paint

After 2nd coat of paint.  Next up, glazing, distressing and hardware installation.
